An ode to Spring in NYC, the composition began to take shape during the spring of 2020, and was disrupted by the pandemic. While the piece waited in limbo, Kallie struck up a collaboration with Norwegian based Swedish artist/author, David Sandum (https://www.davidsandum.com), to explore the interplay of how music and the visual arts influence each other.
This involved months of collaboration between Kallie and David. Kallie first sent David an early demo of the music, which he then began a piece of art while listening to the demo (unaware of the music's original inspiration). David then sent Kallie a drawing back, which influenced the next changes to the music made by Kallie. After some time, Kallie sent David another version back, to which he made his final changes to the art- inspired by what he was hearing in the music. The final version of the art was then sent to Kallie, and she made the final changes and edits to the music-based off of David's drawing, arriving at interlinked pieces of art and music, that grew along side each other- though miles apart, influencing each other along the way.
The artwork pictured here is that very piece, by David Sandum.

This collection of pieces are all gifts to people in my life. Sometimes the biggest gift we can give others is presence. We may not always have the ability to provide solutions, answers, or make things better, but we can be present.

A pandemic collaboration; the song started as a demo that Kallie had been working on for a few years, and finally recruited Julia to complete it. Julia lent her superb guitar stylings to the song, really brining the arrangement to life. Around this time Kallie was signed to Accidental Entertainment, where she was introduced to Zoe Lustri, who completed the song perfectly with her vocal sensibilities and lyrics.
